Overview

Druk Discovery tour, Druk that appears on the flag of Bhutan is a Bhutanese national symbol, so it obviously is the Thunder Dragon which is one of the most revered elements in the Bhutanese mythology. Interestingly, the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan is called ‘Land of Druk’, and its leaders are called ‘Thunder Dragon Kings’. Hence, Druk distinctively endows immense national, historical, and cultural significance to Bhutan which is a small country in the Himalayas between Tibet, China and India. The tiny kingdom of Bhutan also called ‘The Last Shangrila’ is the only Vajrayana Buddhist nation in the world.

The country is magical and mystical. In fact, the tour package itself is evidence of what it will bring to you—you will discover its distinctive and densely packed wonder in the form of culture, tradition, religion, and nature. It will be stupendously exciting and enlivening. On top of that, you will learn a lot about history, art, and religion.

You will get the vibe right after landing in Paro—the gateway to the last Shangri-La on Earth. The only international airport is located here. It is one of the most beautiful districts in the country, located at an altitude of 2,250 m. Its lush rice fields and meadows provide you with a sense of serenity. Furthermore, it is famous for growing red rice, apples, and peaches. It has astonishing fortresses, monuments, and religious sites. Some of its attractions are Bhutanese Farmhouse, Drugyel Dzong, Dungtse Lhakhang, Kila Goenpa, Kyichu Lhakhang Paro Rinpung Dzong, Paro Ta-Dzong (National Museum), Tachog Lhakhang and Taktsang.

And, your drive to Thimpu will be all the more exciting with the view of beautiful landscapes and spectacular monasteries. You might want to stop and take a visit to the privately-owned temple Tamchoe Lahkhang perched on a ridge. More than anywhere, the capital city Thimpu is apt to get you a glimpse of quintessential Bhutan as it is an amalgam of Bhutanese people from all walks of life, which certainly has rendered the city to have prominent features that you cannot keep yourself from admiring. Trashi Chho Dzong, Changangkha Lhakhang, Weekend Market, Tango Goemba, National Memorial Chorten, Motinthang Takin Preserve, Dechen Phodrang, National Library of Bhutan and National Institute for Zoning Chusum are some of the unmissable attractions of Thimpu.
Likewise, Punakha is rich with dzong, Chorten, Lhakhang, river, suspension bridge, pass, national park, and many more.
